Tree/Wall (2017)

Photographs taken in Southeast Asia, where I completed a six week long research fellowship (William and Neoma Timme Traveling Fellowship) studying trees growing on buildings. The idea being that the trees growing on ancient ruins, can potentially begin to function as structural reinforcement to the buildings themselves.

The photographs presented in this installation are in fact photographs of building walls, even though they may no longer read as such. Photographs taken in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia.
