Forest Pavilion (2016)
Speculative design for a pavilion meant to act as a buffer (or infill) in forested areas were deforestation has occurred. The design is produced utilizing data on recent deforestation at the project’s site. Each dome in the pavilion represents a point where a tree used to exist (the diameter of the dome being directly tied to the size of the fallen tree).
The worm’s eye view of the pavilion begins to show the relationship between the fallen and existing trees. While the general plan view of the design shows how the architecture begins to replicate the language of the forest canopy itself.
